  1. Kevin says:

I’d say there’s pretty much no chance Whitson signs this time and he will enter the Draft a 3rd time.

I don’t know his personal situation so maybe $$ isn’t a factor to him as much as others so maybe he feels like just starting his MLB career as soon as possible and take a hit on the initial bonus believing he can earn more in a contract down the road.

But all of that sounds unlikely.

  2. Matt Grabusky says:

I completely agree. Shoulder issues are something teams are going to look at very seriously. I would think if money were a huge issue, he would have signed the first time around. The best thing he can do at this point is go back to UF for one more year.

It does open up the interesting, but remote, possibility of a team taking him in the 3rd to 4th round and trying to get him signed. If he returned healthy, he would be a tremendous get anywhere after the first.

  3. Kevin says:

i agree the possibillity remains of someone grabbing him a la Rio Ruiz 4th round and signing him.I know Rio is a HS guy but another injured should’ve went higher if healthy guy.

We’ll see how it works out.

Terry McClure OF 2013 Atlanta GA

    Needs More Attention Matt.

  5. Matt Grabusky says:

He will be profiled at some point soon. Other than a few personal favorites, I am going to do profiles for the BLF All-Americans who don’t have them yet.

  6. Kevin says:

I don’t think I’ve seen or heard 1 expert mention this kid up to this point.

Terry McClure Ivan Wilson are both OF who haven’t gotten a ton of love to date.

  7. Matt Grabusky says:

I hear McClure talked about once in a while and there are a couple of sites that have spoken well of him. I can’t say the same about Wilson, I haven’t heard or read much of anything on him since last summer.

  8. Kevin says:

Which is puzzling because Wilson has alot of potential I’d say.McClure is now firmly 1 of my favorites for this class.Although the Arm might be better suited for LF we’ll see how all that works out.

KJ Woods yet another 1 of those unmentioned OF who’s a big physical presence.I was trying to find out if football was a concern with either of the 3 but with no luck so far.

I’m thinking come june someone somewhere will find these kids fall in love with what could be like I have and draft them relatively highly.
