Tres Barrera and Jaime Westbrook both recently cracked my radar and now I’m a huge fan of both.

What do you guys think of them?

  2. Kevin says:

Correct me if I’m wrong but I know Carlos Rodon wasn’t much of a prospect prior to arriving at NC State but I can’t really remember whether Trea Turner was much of a prospect either.Obviously both fell late in the Draft Rodon the 16th Round and Turner the 20th to the Brewers and Pirates respectively.

Obviously Turner must’ve had the great speed then but was the bat speed as good then as well?

  3. Sully says:

Rodon was a pretty good prospect out of HS. A lot higher ranked then Turner. Rodon made a name for himself at the ECP, topping at 92

    • Kevin says:

      Oh ok then.

I know he was a name of some kind but obviously not what he is now or remotely close.

I also remember hearing somewhere he had a pretty sizeable velocity jump once arriving on campus.

  4. Kevin says:

I just for the life of me can’t really find anywhere that loved Rodon or Turner. And now both seem to be right at the top of the charts for the 2014 class.

So as you stated Rodon was the better of the 2 in HS and that’s remained so today the question I was really trying to get answered was like Rodon had the velo jump or at least I saw that somewhere did Turners bat speed come along once at NC state or is it simply the production that catapulted him?Obviously 57SB in college will get you some attention. The question I guess really is what did Turner do to improve his stock as much as he has.

    • Kevin_Gallo says:

High Schoolers from the Midwest have a hard time getting a lot of love unless they throw 93+. I am just saying.

  5. Kevin says:

Nathan Rode and Jim Callis as well as Jonathan Mayo are reporting that Drew Ward is offically re-classified as 2013 prospect.

    Finally,

To have a 100% answer on that is very helpful.
