Chris River going #1…….That sounds like a real good draft……When I checked it out too the defense of that was that Astros would want a up the middle prospect whos not even suggested in the 1st round but they would reach that far instead of a guy like Crawford or Mercado. That 1 just didn’t make alot of sense to me.

I don’t see it either. At this point, I’m not even sure Rivera is a first rounder. He was getting alot more love a year ago than he is now. The part about the Astros taking someone who will sign under slot makes sense, but not that it would be Rivera. They will have their top 3 or 4 guys, and assuming they rate them closely, they will take the one who will take less, but I’m thinking a top of Meadows, Frazier, Appel, Stanek, and maybe Manaea.

    Also,

He questioned Meadows ability to hit for average.Which I haven’t really seen anywhere else. And Meadows to me actually looked like being able to make decent contact.IDK Do you guys feel there’s a issue with his hit tool?

He is like any other hitter he has holes in his swing I don’t see that has a major flaw in his game. He is a very althletic kid and I see him becoming a very good maybe great player. To completely answer your question no I don’t think contact will be a issue for him.

I mean he’s a HS prospect it makes sense that he has issues of some kind. But the bat is the 1 thing everyone seemed to love about him.The real issue was whether or not he stays in CF another thing I can’t see being a issue. He has some of the best speed a guy his size will probally ever have. He’s clocked higher then Frazier.I just don’t see a guy with plus speed moving over to RF even if he does bulk up a bit not enough to negate the speed.Frazier is the same way.Alot of people think he has to move because he’s physically mature so if he grows any more it’s going to force the move. But I think him being a baseball rat fully understands that issue I can’t see him allowing that to happen.I think both will be absolute Stud MLB CF.
